Gareth is a former Royal Marines Commando and ex-Director of Leadership Programmes and Operations at The Halcyon Club – a corporate retreat in the Lake District, built for high-performers. He is a bestselling author; publishing two books that specialise in mindset, high-pressure leadership, cognitive restructuring and rapid-decision making. Through his consultancy, he helps people and organisations cut through chaos, rethink how they lead, and unpick the mental baggage that holds them back. His journey through elite sport, the military and into cognitive science has shaped a clear, hard-earned perspective on human behaviour, optimisation and a counter perspective on resilience shedding new light on how people perform when the stakes are high and what cost is potentially incurred without cognitive cycling. He’s currently exploring PhD research investigating rapid decision-making and irrational belief structures in high-stakes situations at the University of Huddersfield, and has previously contributed to the University of Surrey’s Business School adding value and insights with his interpretation of fear, enriching the Universities MSc Entrepreneurial Thinking programme . His clients include teams inside North East Counter Terrorism Policing, KIA Motors, OBE, Leeds Rhinos, and beyond.
